What is Black and Missing, Inc. (BAM)?

BAM is an organization whose sole purpose is to increase the awareness of missing persons of color.

What are BAM's objectives?

  • Expand public awareness of missing persons of color.
  • Increase the number of missing persons of color featured in the media.
  • Increase the number of individuals reunited with their loved ones.

What should I do if my loved one becomes missing?

Call the Police immediately, don't wait! Make sure you have an updated photo available. Alert friends, neighbors, and relatives. Organize a search for your love one as quickly as possible. If child, notify National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and Black and Missing. If adult, notify National Center for Missing Adult and Black and Missing.

How long will it take to profile my loved one on the BAM website? 

Time is of the essence. BAM will verify the information and upload the profile within 12 hours.

Will my loved one be profiled on national television and/or any other media outlets?

BAM will utilize a broad range of direct advertising techniques to generate widespread knowledge of its commitment to the safe return of missing persons. It will include website, ads in print publications geared toward the minority community, banner advertisements on social networking websites, brochures, flyers, television, and radio.

What is the charge to profile my loved one on the BAM website?

There is no charge. It is absolutely FREE!

How will my loved one's be profiled on the BAM website?

BAM has developed an automated technology database that allows photos to rotate on the "Home Page." BAM will also feature a missing person on the "Home Page" and newsletter monthly.
