Black and Missing Foundation’s 10th Annual “Hope Without Boundaries” 5K to Raise Funds and Awareness for Missing Persons of Color

Washington, D.C. (April 24, 2026) — The Black and Missing Foundation, Inc. (BAMFI) will host its 10th annual “Hope Without Boundaries 5K Run/Walk” on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at National Harbor in Maryland. The event brings together community members, advocates, and families to raise awareness and critical funds to support the foundation’s mission: bringing home missing persons of color from around the nation.

“For 10 years, this event has helped bring visibility to cases that are too often overlooked and has created space for families to be seen and supported,” said BAMFI’s Founders Natalie Wilson and Derrica Wilson. “It is a reminder that these cases deserve urgency, attention, and action, and that our families should not have to fight this hard to be heard.”

The event will be hosted by three-time Emmy Award-winning journalist Marissa Mitchell of Fox 5 DC.

“I’m honored to support this year’s ‘Hope Without Boundaries’ 5K and to help spotlight the important work BAMFI continues to do,” said Mitchell. “As a journalist, I’ve seen how critical visibility is in missing persons cases, and too often families of color are left without the coverage and urgency they deserve. This event brings people together in a way that drives both awareness and action.”

Each year, “Hope Without Boundaries” draws a massive turnout of supporters and has grown into BAMFI’s signature annual fundraiser. Proceeds support critical efforts including flyer distribution, search and recovery initiatives, burial assistance, and other resources that help families navigate the search for their loved ones.

People of color make up nearly 40 percent of missing persons cases in the United States, yet these cases often receive limited media coverage and law enforcement resources. BAMFI closes that gap through advocacy, media engagement, law enforcement partnerships, and community-driven initiatives.
