Delta Sigma Theta (Prince George's County Alumnae Chapter) Mile Marker Sponsorship
The members of Delta Sigma Theta (Prince George’s County Alumnae Chapter) are coming together to sponsor all three mile markers at BAMFI’s upcoming Hope Without Boundaries 5K (HWB5K), and we invite you to help us reach this goal together.
Each mile of the race represents perseverance, remembrance, and the continued search for missing loved ones. By sponsoring every mile of the course, we are making a powerful statement of unity, visibility, and commitment to families who are still waiting for answers.
Statistics: 40 percent of missing persons are persons of color, yet, African-Americans make up only 13 percent of the population. Thousands of people are reported missing every year in the U.S. and while not every case will get widespread media attention, the coverage of white and minority victims is far from proportionate. Once our goal is reached, Delta Sigma Theta (Prince George’s County Alumnae Chapter) will be recognized as the official Mile Marker Sponsor, with signage displayed along the race route on event day.
