California will create a new statewide alert system said to be the first in the nation specific to help find missing Black children and young Black women.

"REVOLT Black News Weekly" dives deep into the chilling issue of missing Black women and girls as well as the lack of media attention surrounding the epidemic.

Gov. Gavin Newsom signed the "Ebony Alert" bill to help locate missing Black youth and Black women in the state of California, according to an Oct. 8 written statement from his office.

More than 214-thousand persons of color were reported missing in 2022. Of that number more than 153-thousand, were under the age of 18.
